OROC Helps Revitalize Care Center's Waiting Room, Create Resource Library
OutRun Ovarian Cancer (OROC) has donated $75,000 to revitalize the waiting room in MetroHealth’s Cancer Care Center.
The new waiting room will be larger and will aim to provide a comfortable atmosphere for patients and their families. The renovation will accommodate a new seating area to provide quiet and relaxing spaces for families to gather. The OROC gift will also help fund a resource library for patients and their families.
This comes on the heels of the $5.4 million technology treatment upgrade in the Cancer Care Center, making MetroHealth one of the most advanced, high-quality cancer treatment facilities in Northeast Ohio.
"Now that we have the best treatment technology in the area, we need to complement that with a more calming and welcoming waiting room for our patients," says Timothy O’Brien, MD, Director of the Cancer Care Center. "Sometimes families need a quiet place to relax while their loved one is getting treatment."
"We are thrilled to partner with MetroHealth in providing a calm and peaceful place for patients and their caregivers during a difficult time," says Gretchen Nock, OROC founder.
